Reconfigurable computing technologies offer the promise of substantial performance gains over traditional architectures via the customizing, even at runtime, the topology of the underlying architecture to match the specific needs of a given application. Contemporary configurable architectures allow for the definition of architectures with functional and storage units that match in function, bit-width and control structures the specific needs of a given computation. The flexibility enabled by reconfiguration is also seen as a basic technique for overcoming transient failures in emerging device structures. The ARC forum therefore aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners of reconfigurable computing with an emphasis on practical applications of this promising technology.

This year's workshop will have a series of invited speakers from leading industrial companies that will express their company's or industry's view on the future of reconfigurable technology.

The workshop will be held on the campus of Delft University of Technology in Delft, The Netherlands, on March 1-2-3, 2006. (It precedes DATE2006 and there are daily flights from Amsterdam to Munich)
